Trip Overview

This Ghorepani Poon Hill - short trek is one of the popular trekking option in mini loop of Annapurna region. This trek starts from Pokhara with natural drive to Nayapurl, then starts trek with walking in local community areas, farming lands, terrace, then to the great hills that is full of forest of pine and rhododendron forest. 

Major highlight of this trek is a panoramic view from Poon Hill which is situated at the altitude of 3210m which is the highest view point hill of this trek. View from Poon Hill is just incredible as it offer you a great panorama of complete central Himalayan views of Nepal including, Mt. Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Fishtail (6993m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Dhawalagiri (8167m). In addition, views of hills and valleys with the view of the deepest gorge of the world- Kaligandaki River gorge is seen from the Poon Hill. Poon hill is popular for sunrise/ sunset views of Himalayas. 

Other highlight of this trek is a staying in Ghandruk village for the great exploration in local life and Gurung museum, Tadapani for the natural forest surroundings and closed up views of Annapurna South and Fishtail, and Ghoprepani which is a great local village with incredible views of the Himalayas. On this trek, we are walking in a safe and well paved trail, forested hills and amazing landscapes areas in the middle hill of Nepal. This trek is a great experience for the lifestyle of the hilly peoples as well as natural beauty and Annapurna Himalayas.

Our trek is managed by a team of professionally trained Leader/guide responsible for all aspects of the running of the trek. Our special departure trek is well versed in the culture and natural history of the Himalayas.

Our every effort will be made to keep to the proposed itinerary, however as this is adventure travel in a remote Himalayan region, we cannot guarantee it! Weather conditions, the health conditions of member can all contribute to changes the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs as according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if necessary.

Day 01 Trek from Pothana to Ghandruk Village 
Altitude1,990m/6,529 ft

Pokhara is the beautiful Lake city. You will be picked up your hotel in Pokhara by our guide, we will drive to Nayapul (1 hour and 20 minutes). The trek will start from here. After reaching Birethanti, we will trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Gurung community. Ghandruk Village is a largest Gurung Village (Popular ethnic group from western region of Nepal) in the region. Afternoon visit to Ghurung Museum, local community school and witness local lifestyle in Ghandruk. Sunset views in Annapurna Himalayas looks impressive from here. O/N at Mt. Lodge.


Day 02 Trek from Ghandruk to Tadapani 
Altitude 2710m/8888 ft 
Activities: 4 hrs Walk 
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

With morning sunrise view and breakfast, trek to Tadapani. Trek from Ghandruk gradual ascend through the village for 20 min, then ascent to the rich rhododendron forested hills. As we continue ascend in forested hill, which is a great nature walk to reach to Bhaise Kharka, takes about 2 hours and only a few guest houses areas where we will have a lunch break. Bhaise Kharka is full surrounded by dense rhododendron forest. After lunch, continue trekking in rich rhododendron but ascend in forested hill walk all the way till to reach Tadapani.  Tadapani is a small village is surrounding by rhododendron forest and closest view of Mt. Fishtail ( 6993m), Annapurna South(7219m) and Hiunchuli (6441m) are seen incredible from Tadapani. Enjoy sunset in the Himalayas in evening. O/N at Mt. Lodge.

Day 03 Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani 
Altitude 2,850m/9,350 ft 
Activities: 6-7 hrs Walk 
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

This morning, sunrise views of Fishtail and Annapurna looks amazing in closed up so enjoy your morning view while having breakfast in Tadapani. From Tadapani, short descend to riverside, then continue a long and gradual ascend to hill following river valley areas and forest section passing through Banthanti to Deurali. Deurali is a small top of the hill where we plan to have our lunch. It takes about 4 hours to reach here. From Deurali, short ascend to top of the hill, then descend to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a habitat of Pun and Gurung tribes who are th first choice of tribe for British Gurkhas Regiment ( U.K.). Evening, enjoy with the sunset view of Annapurnas. O/N at Lodge.

Day 04 Morning Hike to Poon Hill & back to Pokhara
Altitude: 3,210m/10,531ft
Activities: 5-6 hrs Walk 
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
 

This morning, we will get ready to climb to Poon Hill at 4:45 AM. For the first 30 min walk will be in dark so must have head light for this morning walk to Poon Hill. It takes about 1 hour ascend to reach top of Poon Hill which is situated at the altitude of 3210m from sea level. It is a great natural walk in rhododendron forest section. 



Poon Hill is one of the best view point at mini circuit of Annapurnas to view the greatest and panoramic views of Annapurna Region Himalayas, including view of Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Fishtail ( 6993m) as well as great Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), and other central Himalayan peaks. From Poon Hill, you will be able to view more than 15 different snow peak in panorama from the left to right so it is impressive morning. Also, you will have great view of Himalayan valleys, hilly region and Kali Gandaki Valley which is one of the deepest Valley of the world ( Between Annapurna I & Dhaulagiri). 



After having great time here, you will be back to Ghorepani, breakfast will be served then. With short time leisure, you will be walking down hill to Banthanti in a forested hill, then to Ulleri Village. You will visit Ulleri Village, cultural peoples, their lifestyle and local community school while stoping here for lunch. After lunch, we trek down to Tikhadhunga and you will drive to Pokhara by private vehicle (2 hour). This drive is scenic, and natural. At reaching to Pokhara, transfer to your hotel, and our trip ends.
