The stunning views of remote trans-Himalayan mountain region of Nepal can be encountered in Upper Mustang Trek. After the glamorous observation of the Kathmandu with tours of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, your trek will be commenced. Moreover, the trails clearly consign the uniqueness of tree-less landscape, rocky trails and views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and other Himalayas.

This trek is unique opportunity where you can experience the true life of the real mountain people of Nepal. If you compare some geographical aspects you will get the flavor of trekking into the Upper Mustang Area is similar to trekking into Tibet, which geographically is a part of it. The mysterious aspect of Mustang is that it is considered a land where the soul of man is still as real as the feet he walks on, while the land itself is almost treeless, barren landscape with a countryside similar to Tibetan plateau, but where beauty and happiness flourishes, in spite of hardship.

The literal meaning of Mustang is “Fertile Plain”, former kingdom of Lo and now it is a part of Nepal, bordering the Tibetan plateau which was opened for the tourist in March 1992. Upper Mustang is a barren valley with Trans Himalayan territories that borders Tibet to the north. Mustang was once an important route for crossing the Himalaya between Tibet and Nepal, and many of the old salt caravans passed through Mustang. This is an area where we will trek to, discovering the wonders of the architecture, language, culture, and traditions which are almost purely Tibetan.

Trekking in Mustang region is a unique experience, which takes you to an arid region beyond the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The route entails traveling across desert like landscape, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs and moraine valleys. Trekking in Mustang is truly one of the most rewarding experiences in Nepal. Therefore, through this trek, you will have a close-up view of the primitive society that has remained unaffected by modernization for centuries.

Advanced Adventures has the multiple opportunities to our clients regarding this trek. If you want to have, less challenging and demanding trek this Upper Mustang Trek 16 Days is very suitable for you. Based on your time availability you can book this trek directly. Trekking in Mustang region is a unique experience, which takes you to an arid region beyond the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We do have two best seasons to attempt this trek to Upper Mustang with us. As this trip is a big trip to you, we always suggest you to come at the right time of the year as far as possible.

Spring: - (March, April, May) - Best warmest time to trek. Rhododendron flowers in bloom- excellent trails and clear skies, best visibility. Good Temperature, warmest weather of the year.

Autumn:- (Mid September, October and November) - excellent trails, clear blue skies, best visibility.

Winter Months: - (December, January and February) are also good, but it’s obviously colder. You have to be prepared for this. It is up to you to plan this trek at this cold time or not.
