The Mani Rimdu is a colorful festival which is not only popular in Nepalese people, also lots of tourists visit in Nepal to see this colorful festival at Tengboche monastery each year with their family and friends.

This Festival Has 3 Major Celebration Days:
First Day of Mani Rimbu Festival

Second Day Mani Rimbu Festival (Mask Dancing Day)

Ending Day of Festival (Blessing Day)

Witness three-day long a vibrant and authentic Sherpa Festival, Mani Rimdu. Plus experience the challenges trekkers get to enjoy a trek to Everest Base Camp.

Mani Rimdu Festival is the celebration of Buddhists victory over the ancient religion of animism, Bon. One of the major festivals of Khumbu, Mani Rimdu is celebrated by the Tibetan Buddhists of the region at the monasteries of Tengboche, Thami, and Chawing. Traditionally dressed monks wear luxuriant masks and perform the dramatic form of ritualistic dances, which manifest the victory. The biggest celebration of Khumbu, Mani Rimdu is fascinating spectacle to every western trekker. Trekkers during autumns and springs can jovially experience this highland celebration especially celebrated by the families of the guides they are trekking together with.

During the three day celebration, the first day of Mani Rimdu involves Lamas chanting religious prayers in the courtyards of the monasteries. The second day of the festival is very much lively. Hundreds of Sherpas living in Khumbu throng to the site to observe the Lamas dressed in colorful brocade gowns and enchantingly painted paper-mache masks and their intriguing dances. The Lamas perform serious and complex traditional dances whereas; two sequences of laughably comic dances during the event make second day of Mani Rimdu an important social occasion as well as equally entertaining sight. The final day of the festival is a grand gathering of Sherpas for the all-night Sherpa dance.
