Testimonials

Arriving from Dhaka, Bangladesh, I had little to no idea what to expect from a travel agent based in Katmandu, Nepal....

Grading

We have grouped the expeditions and treks into three bands – Introductory (Easy), Intermediate (Moderate) and Advanced (Strenuous).

Easy
For 'Easy' treks no special physical preparation or experience is required. They're usually on very good paths and stick to lower altitudes. You'll walk up from 4 to seven hours a day, with the possibility of snow and glaciers below 4100m. However some physical preparation will certainly enhance your experience; we suggest jogging or walking uphill and downhill for six to eight weeks before arrival.

Moderate
On a 'moderate' trek you can expect to walk from 4 to 7 hours or more a day and cross high altitude passes. Physical preparation is required, as there are some long and demanding days at quite high altitudes. No technical experience is needed, but a positive attitude and determination are essential.

Strenuous
Must have previous walking experience, plenty of stamina and be in excellent physical condition. Involves walking along high altitude, sometimes narrow trails exceeding 5,500 meters, up to 4 to 7 hours per day. Strenuous treks include high altitude passes over difficult terrain in remote areas. Rock and ice climbing experience are required and ropes and climbing equipment (e.g., ice axe and crampons) may be used.

Positive attitude and a strong determination are essentially required to plan these trips.
