Tamang Heritage Trail newly opened for trekkers as it was a restricted area which lies near Tibetain border. The main highlight of the trek is an ancient lifestyle of indigenous of Tamang ethnic group which is one of the most popular ethnic groups of Nepal. It is a newly developed tourism product, off the beaten track, which also highlights healing baths in natural hot spring. This is a unique test of the culture and its landscape of Nepal. There are not well developed lodges as other popular trekking region has but very basic accommodations are available where you get basic Nepali and Tibetan food. This trek leads you through the popular Tamang village where many ancient Gompas (Gompa is a place where people goes for meditation) and Buddhist pray rocks are set around the village and even on the walking trail.

Sample day on "Tamang Heritage Trek"

A typical day revolves around the Nepal sunrise and sunset, rather than any Western time schedule. The day starts with an early wakeup call. You then pack up your gear and enjoy a rousing breakfast before starting your mornings walk. Our Leading Guide will already be organized and have assigned loads to porters, and your group will then set off on the trail at a leisurely pace, enjoying the view and stopping to take photographs. After 2-3 hours walk you stop for lunch. This lasts for about 1 to 1 and half hours which gives you time to relax, or explore the local village.

The afternoon’s walk is usually shorter and we arrive at the campsite or tea-house in plenty of time to relax and savor the surroundings.

Later in the evening dinner is served, giving you an opportunity to sample the delicious food, talk over the day’s events, and look forward to another special day on the trails of Nepal Himalayan again.
