This tour is a great combination of cultural and natural appreciation. This cultural tour will help you get acquainted with diverse facets of Nepal and Nepalese culture. Asides from a discovery of harmony of Buddhism and Hinduism in and around the Kathmandu Valley, you will get a chance to trace back to the life of the "Enlightened One" or the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism in Lumbini, which is believed to be a birthplace of Buddha.
The Kathmandu city stands at elevation of approximately 1,400 meters in the bowl-shaped valley situated in central Nepal surrounded by four major mountains such as shivapuri, phulchowki, Nagaarjun and Chandragiri. Kathmandu is gateway to Nepal tourism. The Tour of Kathmandu Valley might be one of the memorable tours as the tourists can have a full picturesque view of the Kathmandu. The Kathmandu city attracts the tourists especially from the Asian countries via its' cultural heritages as it is listed in the world heritage site. Ancient temples including Pashupatinath-- one of the biggest shrine of Hindu People--, famous Stupas of Buddhist religious--Sowambhunath, Boudhanath--, colorful bazaars, museums and traditional sculptures are the main attractions of the valley.
Lumbini is in the foothills of the Himalaya 25 km east of the municipality of Kapilavastu, where the Buddha is said to have lived till the age of 29. Kapilvastu is the name of the place in question as well as of the neighbouring district. Lumbini has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi temple and others under construction. Also here is the Puskarini or Holy Pond - where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath - as well as the remains of Kapilvastu palace.
