Heartily welcome to the legendary mountain kingdom in the Himalayas, the last Shangri-La - Bhutan. Bhutan is wedged between two Asian giants - India and China, bestowed by nature with an incredible diversity in topography resulting in a wide range of flora and fauna. Bhutan's elevation from a few hundred meters above sea level to among the highest mountains, makes it one of the most diverse countries in terms of topography. Moreover, Bhutan is also recognized by UNESCO as one of 10 centers for bio-diversity, all within a distance of 150 kilometers resulting in sub-tropical climate to Arctic-like climate. Bhutan is the only last remaining country which follows the Vajrayana Buddhism as the state religion.
Prior to the beginning of Bhutan Tour, the sightseeing tour to Heritage Sites of Kathmandu adds delightful glory to this tour.
The major highlight of the trip includes the Bhutanese Capital, Thimpu. Trashichhoedzong (the summer abode of Je Khenpo), National Library, Textile and Folk Heritage Museums and Stupa of Memorial Chorten are major monuments to explore in Thimpu.
The city housing only international airport in Bhutan, Paro highlights Taktshang Monastery, the cliff hanging sacred site also known as The Tiger's Nest. Ta Dzong and Ringpun Dzong are also the major highlights at Paro.
The Dzong that survived several earthquakes and fires lying at the confluence of Rivers Pho & Chu, Punakha Dzong is the major highlight at Punakha.
