Pem Chottar Sherpa is one of the most experienced climbing/expedition guides in Nepal. Active since the year 2000, Pem has led successful trips to numerous peaks in and outside Nepal.
With 15 years of experience in leading and guiding solo and group climbing trips, he has grown immune to fatigue, disinterest or displeasure from Himalaya. When he is climbing, he is the busiest man in the team; however, his successes came with much difficulties and ordeals.
He started as a junior porter in an expedition led by his uncle. After working 2 years as a porter, he joined chefs’ team for the next 3 years and gradually made his way to assistant climbing guide.
A devoted family guy, he started his job as a guide from Lakpa Ri of Tibet, where he spent almost 4 years. When he returned to Nepal, he was overwhelmed with offers he received to guide teams to mighty mountains like, Mount Everest and numerous other Eight-Thousander peaks.
Today, he leads amateur as well as expert climbers to many popular small peaks around Nepal. He’s your climbing leader who will make sure you go summit and back in a good health.
